從雀爾喜碼頭走來西村第一個點就是今天要介紹的 悼念 911 彩繪磁磚廣場 911 Memorial Tile Fence (編號：A)

 

這是一個由鐵絲網圍起來的三角路口，鐵絲網上掛滿了各種形狀、顏色，內容都是弔念 911 事件過世的親人或朋友。

 

走到這裡，心中默默禱告，願所有人能平安。就像這塊磁磚一樣，一個太陽，一個雙子星，一個光環。我們永遠忘不了 911 帶來的創傷，但我們卻能永遠將創傷化為大愛。

 

順道一提，後方的廣告牆是人工彩繪的廣告強。在這個電腦普及的年代，能夠維持手工藝術的行業已不多見了。

 

編號 B 的 傑佛遜圖書館 Jefferson Market Library 離 A 有段距離，要有耐心地走，慢慢享受紐約的生活。沿著我圖中的路線走，你會發現有棟威尼斯樣式的哥德建築矗立在你眼前。

 

抬頭一看會看到四面鐘的尖頂高塔。不要小看這一棟建築。這棟建築可是獲選過全美第四美麗的建築呢！

這棟建築以前是法院，但 1945 年法院遷離這裡以後，長時間的閒置而毀損。在當地居民的拯救後，重新規劃成圖書館至今。

這棟建築目前是國家歷史地標建築，正式名稱為 Third Judicial District Courthouse，但紐約客還是喜歡叫它 Jefferson Market，因為 1874 年以前這裡曾是市場。
